”Nature has a beautiful design for our bodies,” says gynecologist Rebecca Booth, M.D., author of The Venus Week (De Capo Press, 2008). “Once you understand the power of your hormones, you can take charge of them and actually enjoy the ride, rather than dread it.” The goal is to stop thinking of your symptoms as limiting and focus instead on the possibilities for control and freedom.

Exe”Symptom: Thinning Hair

PERIMENOPAUSE: Estrogen stimulates hair growth. As estrogen declines, you may see a slight receding hairline or thinning hair.

Strategies

Use a retinol serum. Retinol can make hair less prone to breakage, says Booth. At night, smooth one half of a pea-sized dollop of a retinol scalp serum (try RasAmla (sic) Regrowth Retinol Serum at rasamla.com) onto your hair and comb through; wash it out in the morning.

Supplement help: Biotin (300 mcg; available over-the-counter as a supplement), a B vitamin found in egg yolks, cod, and oysters, strengthens nails and promotes hair growth.”

  1. I learn every day speaking with new clients that before they discovered RasAmla, they had no idea that RETINOL was a potent revitalizing vitamin A version, that was so effective used on the skin of the scalp. This is where the hair roots are, and when a follicle starts to weaken and go into its dormant phase too early, often it is the revitalization of the circulation and renewal of the scalp that helps awaken new, stronger hair growth vitality. RasAmla Retinol scalp serum can be used to pre-treat the scalp, just prior to a nightly 2% MINOXIDIL scalp treatment, to help get the most impact from the regimen. Ask you dermatologist or even your gynocologist about hormones, retinol, and its ability or reawaken the scalp skin and the roots where the healthier hair starts.
